Black Sands Brewing Company is based in Kelston, West Auckland. As a bit of a new-kid-on-the-block, Black Sands currently have three beers in their range; an IPA, a Pacific Red Ale, and a Single Hop Pilsner. Black Sands are proudly a 'Westie' product, and want to promote all the positives about West Auckland.
Behind Black Sands is Ian Hebblewaithe, the pioneer of 'pineapple beer', and his mate Peter 'Ozzie' Osborne. Together, they brought a 50L micro-brewery and created the beers they liked. A couple of years later, they upsized to a 600L Brewery in Westech Place, Kelston. This is definitely a brewery to watch...
